Memorial for the Crew of Halifax NA-240 Z5-V
This bronze Memorial Plaque was presented to the Lord Mayor of Delitzsch, Oberbürgermeister Heinz Bieniek on 11 May 2005.
The Memorial Plaque is now permanently displayed in St. Ursula Evangelische Kirche at Zaasch. The church cemetery was the location of the original communal grave for the 7 Crew Members who died in the Crash.
Delitzsch was in the direct fight path of Bombers destined for Leipzig, about 20 km to the south. Zaasch, where Halifax NA240, Z5-V crashed, is located about 3 km to the NNW of Delitzsch.
