Graves at Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery for Crew of Halifax III NA240 Z5-V |

|
Graves at Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery.
The bodies of 7 Crew members (from the Crew of 8) were initially interred in a communal grave at the Zaasch church cemetery. They were exhumed in October 1947, individually identified, and subsequently re-interred in 7 individual graves at the Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery.
The 7 Crew are buried in Section 4, Row Z, graves 7 to 13. These are the graves shown in the row closest. During a visit on 10 May 2005, each was commemorated with a red poppy flower placed at the gravestone, as well as a small sprig of yellow Australian Wattle flowers.
The Rear Gunner Flight Sergeant M.J.Hibberd survived the crash to become a PoW.
